How do you talk to yourself about your current circumstances? About where you are in life right now?
What you tell yourself about many things can determine the trajectory of your life…and your joy.
You may recall from Episode 22 that I was once commissioned as the Chick-Fil-A cow, and had to talk myself out of a claustrophobic freakout before I could carry on as a self-respecting entertainment bovine.
It’s amazing what a little positive self-talk can do.
And sometimes, you need to talk to yourself when your circumstances are much more serious–like a young boy named Jaden Hayes.
CBS Evening News reported on him in 2015 as a lesson in turning sadness into joy, when they showed us Jaden’s amazing response to the death of both his parents.
Obviously, knowing that we can “put the best construction on any situation” just by the way we talk to ourselves is a priceless practice right there.
