Do you like to dance?
When the music starts, do you find it hard to sit still? Do you just want to jump up and boogie down all evening long? Does dancing to the music make you forget all your worries, and usher you into an alternate universe of joy?
If so, then you are me.
ON THE OTHER HAND…
When the music starts do you want to–at best–just enjoy listening? Or–at worst–run and hide from the people who are urging you to get out on the floor and gyrate like a fool, making you the target (in your mind) of the ridicule and judgement of all the people in the room who, you are convinced, are evaluating your moves…and laughing?
If so, then you are my husband.
No judgment here. You may be suffering from chorophobia--the irrational fear that occurs when someone is extremely uncomfortable at the thought of dancing.
Who knew there was a name for it?
If this is you or someone you care about, I invite you to consider dancing as an expression of joy–not just for other people, but for yourself!
