Podcast Episode 169 (18): Help Somebody Hurt

Pain = no fun ever.

And it doesn’t make a lot of sense to go back to the place of your pain after you’ve healed.

Or does it?

What if your revisitation could help someone else mend?

I won’t lie; holding a hurting person’s hand could possibly involve a few tears or some of your time or a LOT more.

But it’s all good. It’s all holy ground.

Because, as C.S. Lewis wrote, “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”

So when “this too shall pass” in your own life actually does pass, maybe you could be “roused” enough to risk coming back to your own pain so you can travel with another soul through theirs…and give some hope for joy.
