No Matter What
90 Devotions for Experiencing UNEXPECTED JOY in Tough Times
By Author, Jill Baughan
When I was a child, the Tilt-A-Whirl at my hometown’s annual street fair taught me this life-changing truth: it is entirely possible for a human being to laugh and throw up at the same time.
Little did I know that years later, when I was a grown-up, God would use this revelation to show me—on a deeper level—that joy and sorrow can occupy the same space, that they can walk (or hurl) alongside each other on the same road. We just have to be intentional about drawing from the joy while we’re going through the tough stuff.
In other words, when it comes to deep delight that feeds your soul, you are not at the mercy of your circumstances. You have the choice to direct your mind’s focus toward joy.
And that, my friend, is very good news.
Jill Baughan invites you into her laughter-filled world through stories like this that remind you that we can experience sincere joy even in the rough parts of life. Always genuine, sometimes profound, and often humorous, Jill encourages you to find joy…no matter what.
My Story
Jill Baughan is an author, speaker, podcaster and curator of “joy shots” who helps people find joy, no matter what else is happening in life.
Her first book, A Hope Deferred: A Couple’s Guide to Coping with Infertility, chronicles her journey through her own struggles to conceive a child, and offers suggestions for couples traveling the same road.
Her second book, Born To Be Wild: Rediscover the Freedom of Fun, helps people unleash that power of play in their own lives. Her message here gives the reader a new ability to say “yes” to opportunities for exuberance.
Since the publication of Born To Be Wild, Jill’s life has included multiple surgeries, family crises and a breast cancer diagnosis. Because of these challenges, however, she discovered new ways to find joy in the middle tough times, and was thus motivated to start a podcast (Find Joy…No Matter What), and then write her third book, No Matter What: 90 Devotions for Experiencing Unexpected Joy in Tough Times.
